“She has a very interesting personality….”

These were the words our vet shared with us after Coco’s first appointment over a year ago. Not “she’s a good puppy” or “she’s got a lot of energy” or even “she’s a real sweetheart”. And now, after a year of living with the adorable mutt, we know exactly what the vet was talking about. Take the dinner situation, for example. When she deigns to eat her ORGANIC $2 a can dog food (and there are times when she turns her nose up at it as though we had substituted plutonium for it), she always, always, always leaves a small portion on her plate.
We have various theories for why this occurs. She’s not that hungry, she got distracted…..whatever. But, I think I’ve finally come up with the reason that a dog with a “very interesting personality” would leave this little dribble of food on her plate. She’s eating like a Frenchwoman. We all know that she needs to watch her girlish 6 pound figure, so this only makes sense. And she is half poodle, after all.
