Let’s get this party started!

I first signed my LLC into reality on April 19, 2000, so we’re celebrating our 23rd year this year! Or is it 24? Do you count the past or the future? Things like that are very confusing to me. No matter what - it’s a lot of years and I’m happy to be returning to Suttons Bay again. It’s such a sweet little town, with, in my humble opinion, the best shopping in the area. Every shop there seems to have its own unique identity and I often hear people talking about this in my shop. “So many cute shops!!” Yes, I agree. And, thanks to you all, we’ll be back in the swing of things on April 8th!

I didn’t do a whole lot of major things in the shop this winter, but I spent a lot of time there. It is a really calming space for me and I consider it my happy place. After my dad died in early December, it was a place for me to find a little comfort in doing simple things like cleaning and painting and arranging. Steve and Lucy and I were lucky enough to spend a couple of weeks in Florida. It was hot!! (My mom laughed at me when I complained about the weather.) We had a nice relaxing time and I got back into reading again, which strangely enough, had eluded me since the pandemic.

The past few weeks have been spent accepting lots of big boxes and pricing and placing merchandise. Sue has been helping me with that - jobs like that are more fun when shared. Nancy is preparing to unveil the first 2023 window this Tuesday. I’ve seen bits and pieces of it, but I can’t wait to see it all together! Kerry and I are working together this Saturday, OPENING DAY, and she is making the cutest little treats for everybody. And, we made up some adorable gift bags for purchases over $40. I can’t reveal the contents, but they are BEEyond adorable.

We are hiring for the first time in a very long time! Looking for somebody to work 15-20 hours a week, minimal weekends, good pay, nice environment, flexible scheduling. If you like working with the public and are looking for a part-time job April - December, let me know. I’d love to talk to you!

I hope you all have been doing well during this winter that doesn’t seem to quite want to move into spring. If you’re on spring break this week, I hope you’re taking good care and having all the fun you can. If you’re in the neighborhood next Saturday, we would LOVE to see you!
