Slow January

It’s been a slow and easy January for me. We didn’t get any snow until after Christmas and when we got it we really got it! Here’s my happy place all decked out with a zillion snowflakes.

I’m not a huge fan of a zillion snowflakes but it’s pretty and it has pretty much forced me to sit down and shut up for awhile. I’ve been exploring things other than thinking about HW nonstop and one of the fun things I’m doing is completing this paint by number painting. It’s surprisingly relaxing and a tiny bit addictive, especially once you start to see the image come together. Believe it or not, this is my first time doing this. (I know. Weird.)

I’ve also been exploring meditation again. Every so often, the crew at Ten Percent Happier offers a little series of meditation challenges. This time it was all about Imperfect Meditation. Count me in! I invited my meditation friend to join me and we both agreed this is one of the best. I’ve always had so many preconceived ideas about the RIGHT way to do it. Turns out you just do it. One of the meditation teachers, Cara, had me hooked when she said “Perfection is a jerk.”

Nancy finished our winter window and it is whimsical and fun just like she is! If you’re in town, check it out - so many cute details. The background is amazing!

I’m continuing my journey with Intuitive Eating with JodiAnn Stevenson as my coach. Progress is slow, but I am feeling progress. For a long time, I have wanted to ditch the diet train and make peace with food and I have found that program works for me.

We’re planning a little surprise in the dressing room for 2024 in collaboration with Laughing Fish Gallery. I can’t tell you exactly what it is (mainly because it’s not done yet ☺️) but it involves painting these rooms blue (done) and then the surprise part!

See you next month!
